Nintendo DSi New Console – Photos and Music

Nintendo is the Big Boss in handheld consoles. 81 millions consoles of Nintendo DS have been sold and Nintendo launches a new look version, Nintendo DSi with a camera, a music player, a bigger screen and better wiresless internet. You can also download games, and is available in black and white. No phone feature yet! Do you hear a ping?

Innovation at its core, Nintendo has always been looking for expanding the business, with stiff competition from playstation PSP driving them faster. The most sold hand held device Nintendo DS just got a new look. The console has become thinner relative to the current generation. The DSi will also have features to edit photos using a basic photo editing software analogous to paint. Other innovations include the ability to control the speed of the sound files. The device boasts two cameras of 0.3MP. The next generation will probably have a better camera.

Nintendo DSi will also have a memory slot, which will allow users to play music out of the card. The other slot, Gameboy slot found in Nintendo DS has been removed and hence the console has lessened its girth. “We want our customers to individualize their Nintendo DSi,“, the Nintendo President Satoru Iwata was quoted saying. With the ability to download games and also enhanced wireless capabilities, the console are already posing a threat to the apple ipod touch and similar other devices in the market.

The Nintendo DSi will be tagged at £100 and will be launched in Japan on November 1. United Kingdom will soon see a release in the first quarter of 2009.

Dear Nintendo,

Do create a feature for users to use the console as a phone and the innovation ll slide you to the next level.

Why cant we have a integrated device? If a gaming device can have a music player and a camera, it can also have a phone.

nintendo games are far ahead in gaming than any app on iphone.

i agree with u both a device can be intergrated with features including phone features but how would they market the product and keep the cost relatively down? In todays market people are aware of bargains if it cost $50 more to make the DSi from the original price would u still purchase it? A kid would have to talk mom and dad into upgrading their system and we all know nintendo is just going to redesign it a year later lol. And nintendo is known for its gaming not cellular service, its a nice ideal to put that option in but it be safer to just compete with their biggest competition (sony)
